Hehku light

The assignment was to create a light for a small living room, which gives a cosy and warm atmosphere. The Hehku light is made of Finnish curly birch and birch veneer. It is also an interior element when it is switched off.

The holes in the inner birch veneer increase the amount of light and create a beautiful warm glow as the light shines through the curly birch veneer. The inspiration came from the view in the forest, how the sun shines through the trees.
